Banffy Castle, Bonțida, Romania
It was the end of August 2011 when the "Bontida Cultural Days" were held at the Banffy Castle. A great opportunity for me to start learning to have fun with my new D90 camera.
The castle is mostly a Baroque monument, its construction started in 1437 for the Bánffy family and finished in 1543. During World War II German troops burned it while retreating from Transylvania. Further neglect during Communism has left the castle in ruins. Nonetheless today it is in the process of being restored.
